Letter to the NSW Acting Minister for Education and CEO of NESA

On behalf of Drama and Music teachers in New South Wales, NAAE has expressed continued support for high-quality, clearly articulated and future-focused Stage 6 Drama and Music syllabuses for NSW schools.

While recognising the significant work undertaken by NESA in developing the current draft syllabuses, there has been a sustained period of concern from the Drama and Music education communities in NSW, including concerns formally raised with the NSW Government and NESA in 2024, and throughout 2025 regarding the proposed draft syllabuses shared for public consultation during Term 4, 2024.

These concerns have been outlined in communications to the NSW Government and NESA on multiple occasions, yet many remain inadequately addressed.
